Riot - Herding....
In a very short time, Riot has really excelled in herding and has taken
to stock with amazing talent and ease. He is an honest worker with
great stock sense and balance.  He is also a true duck dog and loves
working those little buggers more than anything!

Riot earned his HT on sheep in AKC after only a few times out on stock
and with an
extremely novice handler (me...LOL!!) and in his first ASCA
trial with trainer/handler Debbie Pollard, Riot walked away with six
qualifying scores, three new titles, and Most Promising Started Dog
honors!  Riot is trained and handled in the herding arena exclusively by
Debbie Pollard of Herding4Ewe and we are pursuing both his
WTCH and AKC Herding Championship.

Check out Riot and his "herding girlfriend"
Raven....
I've been told that a good herding dog will
instinctively adjust his approach to the stock
based on the stock itself.  Well...this is Riot and
Buddy, an orphan lamb being hand raised.  We
met Buddy at the Contra Costa County Fair
where I was judging the Dog Showmanship in
June.  Within minutes of seeing Buddy, Riot
appointed himself the "Official Lamb Babysitter"
and spent the rest of the day watching over
Buddy as he slept, ate, and greeted interested
people passing by.  He even cleaned Buddy's
face. They made quite a picture, the two of them,
and I have never been more proud of my kind
hearted boy.
